Feedback closing soon on draft Waikato District Plan

Waikato District Council news

Successful workshops were held around the Waikato district late last year as part of Waikato District Council’s draft District Plan consultation.

The open days in Tuakau, Mangatangi, Pokeno, Te Kauwhata, Huntly, Raglan, Te Kowhai, Tamahere and Ngaruawahia in November and December provided an opportunity for the public to discuss the draft District Plan with Council staff.

The events were well attended with more than 520 people turning up to discuss the draft plan options and feedback on a wide range of matters.  Key topics of interest included zoning (country living, village, deferred), subdivision, minor dwellings, home occupations and many more.

Feedback on the draft District Plan closes on at 5pm on 22 January. Staff will consider the feedback before the Proposed District Plan goes out for formal consultation in mid-2018. For further information on this process and to give your feedback, visit www.waikatodistrict.govt.nz/districtplanreview.
