The next RCB meeting is Tuesday 9 February at 6pm in the Town Hall Supper Room. The public forum starts at 5.30pm, giving an opportunity to discuss issues.

1. Fiona Edwards of Harbour Care is the invited speaker.
2. Raglan bus improvements – report to go to council committee in March (no mention of input from RCB or Raglan).
3. WDC survey on relations with RCB – barriers to communication include “Council not delivering on promises”. “All respondents generally have reservations about whether Council genuinely wants to engage.” “ There seems to be a lot of excuses as to why things can’t happen, and the shutting down of ideas. This is a pretty surefire way of killing engagement.”
4. “priority projects received from Councillor Baddeley” –
1. “Wi Neera Street connection. This is essential for connecting Raglan West and the CBD”.
2. “Cliff Street shared space development and one way traffic flow. Plus beach front stability as identified in Tonkin Taylor reports including the continuation of the board walk. This is getting dangerous due to visitor use.”
3. “Complete the entrance to Raglan by completing stage 2.” (Main Rd footpath)
5. RCB Long Term Plan 2015-2025 Priority List (appears to be a year out of date).
6. Footpaths priority list – Nihinihi Ave, Uenuku Ave, Wainui Rd near Marae, Wharf car park to boardwalk.
7. Walking and trails strategy – expected to be approved for public consultation in April/May.
1. Wainui Reserve walking track – signs were to be put up by end of Nov, but now “Draft signage brief confirmed last week and waiting on a reply email regarding the completion date of the signs.”
2. Wainui Rd to Karioi track – engagement with landowners about to commence.
8. Coastal Reserves 14 Dec meeting – Wainui cycle track entrance to be from Wainamu beach, judder bars for Wainui Stream bridge to be considered by engineer, next meeting Mon 15 5.30pm.
9. Carparks – Norrie Ave near school and Stewart St – report recommends no change.
1. Parking warden from 27 Dec to 10 Jan issued 348 infringements totalling $22,263.
10. District Plan – aim to consult public in 2017.

2. Rangitahi plan operative from 16 Jan. (full decision in pages 54 to 181)
11. Decorative lights work completed.
12. Vacancy on Board could be filled or left vacant, appointment of a deputy chairperson and meeting time.
13. Verbal reports on Council, Board and Stakeholder Relationships CBD plan, Civil Defence, Cultural Liaison, Placemaking and Communications.
14. Discretionary fund has $17,139.
Should WED be taking up these, or any other issues? There’s no mention of items previously left unresolved, such as the Tsunami Study, Waingaro Hot Springs, TPPA, Digital Enablement Plan and Kaitoke Walkway weeds.
