Cancelled- Feb 5-8: Raglan Five Dollar Festival

Tom McCormick has decided to cancel the Raglan $5 Festival due to extreme weather event predicted by the MetService for Waitangi Weekend.

160102FiveDollarFestivalRaglan Five Dollar festival is a community Festival to be held over Waitangi Weekend 2016 is possibly the most affordable festival in New Zealand.
Everyone and everything is five dollars with under 12s free.

The Old School Arts Centre will host the festival with 2 stages,food stalls and other activities for a family friendly weekend. The Festival will showcase a wide range of music from many genres from Celtic Folk to Reggae to Rhythm and Blues and Jazz and everything in between. The lineup is comprised of the abundant local talent residing in this beautiful coastal Waikato town along with some highly talented touring musicians.

Acts already confirmed are Sola Rosa, Knights of the Dub Table, award winning celtic duo Gillian Boucher (Canada) and Bob Mc Neill (Scotland), West Coast Jazz, Acoustic Spirit, Parabola West, Jon Sanders, Dave Alley, Dan Wilcox, Amelia Penfold, Dub sonic feat Nikki Keyz, Pete Fountain, Ashley Knox, Brendan Hamm Band, Freddie and the Hot Potatoes.

Admission is by five dollars koha with all food and drinks etc $5. All Koha will be used to pay expenses and pay all performers with equal shares.

The town has embraced the festival and will include a supporting music trail at several local music venues including the Raglan Club and the YOT Club. The YOTTIE will be featuring a Sola Rosa Concert on Friday 5th February.
