On February 24th, Raglan Ramblers will be crossing the Opotoru causeway and walking to the waterfalls. They say this will be a chance to see Rangitahi before the bulldozers move in to add a bridge and 500 houses to this peninsula. This is a seven kilometre walk, mostly on farm tracks, with good harbour views and three waterfalls over a basalt dike. Please bring your lunch.
Walks usually start 9am, Wednesdays from Wainui Rd car park (next to Raglan Fire Station). There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook
Each “Rambler” accepts responsibility for any accident or injury received while travelling, or walking over private property. Be prepared – carry enough food, clothing, first aid kit for emergencies and preferably a mobile phone.
And especially take plenty of WATER with you
Don’t forget plenty of WATER
Yes, some of those walks on the peninsulas around Raglan can get very hot.
