Feb 16: RCoC Breakfast meeting

Update from Raglan Chamber of Commerce

Kia ora koutou katoa,

We hope you are enjoying the buzz of the New Year!

We’ll have a proper update email coming to you soon, but we wanted to invite you along to the first breakfast of the year happening next Thursday 16 February at The Shack.

We’re trying out a new day, but still the same time, 7:30 am. … bright and early. 🙂

The platform of this breakfast is going to be a bit different:

We’ll be hosting an open forum for all of you to submit your thoughts and experiences of how the summer season has gone so far for your business.

Last year, the Chamber began and had numerous conversations between Hamilton and Waikato Tourism and Waikato University to further study and understand the tourism boost happening both in our community and throughout New Zealand.

After a few meetings with WDC and members of the Raglan Naturally sub-committee, it has been decided that a DTO, Destination Tourism Organisation, needs to be set up to guide the tourism growth in our community—which as it stands currently will be under the moniker ‘Raglan Naturally’.

The Chamber has been asked to lead the development of this DTO, but to get off on the right foot, we would love your insight and perspective of what is going on in the tourism world of Raglan.

We’ll try to fit as much into the conversation as we can with the hour that we have, so some pre-thoughts on your part would be appreciated.
I.e., What is working for your business? What’s not working? How do you see tourism developing for our community? What concerns do you have? etc., etc.

We hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to share your ides, thoughts and concerns. No matter what is said, it will be taken into consideration while developing the Strategic Plan for the ‘Raglan Naturally’ DTO.

If you are unable to attend next week’s breakfast, please take a few minutes to fill out this survey, which is helping us to further understand the infrastructure support for businesses in Raglan:
