Feb 14: Detour road to Raglan open

Waikato District Council advises:

Update 3.30pm Feb 14:

“Roading crews have been working hard through the day and night and we are pleased to inform you that Ohautira Road and Waingaro Road through to Raglan is now OPEN.”

Raglan detour route blocked by flooding and trees

In addition to SH 23 being closed due to the dropout, the official detour route via Ngaruawahia and Waingaro is blocked on Ohautira and Waingaro Rd. It’s a combination of flooding and trees down – roading crews will prioritise clearing what they can get to.
Also the “unofficial” route, Waitetuna Road is underwater in places and there’s a washout.
Waka Kotahi are aware and WDC will be working closely with them through the day.

Waikato district and region is under a State of Emergency.

Update expected Tuesday morning.
