For over 3 days, the beautiful coastal valley of Ruapuke, just 20km south of Raglan, will feel the uplifting vibes and powerful message of the inaugural Ruapuke Roots Garden, NZ’s first Reggae Sound System Festival.

With Artists beaming in from all over the globe for this one-off event it is sure to be packed. Tickets have been flying out the door as people prepare for 3 days of camping in the idyllic coastal location.

Sound System culture, which has blossomed in pockets of the country over the last decade has been screaming out for an opportunity to run the popular urban events in an outdoor setting in a festival capacity and Ruapuke Roots Garden has been tailor-made especially for this.

Doors open midday 13th February and the festival runs until 6pm Sunday the 15th. Not only is there a plethora of musical entertainment but also daily morning yoga sessions, magicians, children’s night time stories and in between, a host of activities in amongst the stall area which will be providing delicious pop up eateries, arts and crafts and clothing options.

People are advised to think carefully before they pack as the event will keep with the Kaupapa of the local Raglan region which achieves a top national waste diversion level of 75% as a community. Ruapuke Roots Garden are working with local outfit Xtreme Zero Waste to work towards surpassing this level and creating a fun environment to turn “waste into a resource”.

Other event partners include Piha’s Lion Rockers Hi-Fi, Kindred Sound System from Christchurch, Perfect Sound Solutions from Auckland and then all the way from Germany come I-Livity I-Fi who are shipping their sound here from Europe!
