Feb 12-22: SH23 Glentui Lane to Cogswell Road – Night works road closure

Update 10th Feb. This work is now being done while SH 23 is fully closed, so there will be no need for the work to be done at night.

SH 23 news

Fulton Hogan will be undertaking road resurfacing activities on SH23 on the Raglan Deviation as part of the 2022/23 Renewals Programme.

This section of SH23 has sharp bends and narrow shoulders, and to ensure the safety of our crews and road users while this work is undertaken we need to close SH23 to all through traffic between Glentui Lane and Cogswell Road. Work will take place overnight from Sunday 12 February for up to 10 nights. The closure will be in place Sunday to Thursday nights between 9pm and 5am, outside these hours, including Friday and Saturday nights road users will be unaffected.

Vehicles will be allowed through the worksite at 11pm and 2am. Vehicles must be at the closure points at either end of the site at this time and will be escorted through the worksite. Once the queue is through the site the closure will re-commence until the next opening time.

Emergency Services will be given priority through the worksite at all times.

The work is weather dependent and updates can be viewed at the Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency Journey Planner website:

If weather prevents work taking place we will undertake this on the next available day.

Worksite:

We will need to return in March to complete the long life road marking which will require a further one week closure. More information will be provided when the dates for this work are confirmed.

We apologise for the inconvenience the closure will cause and thank you for your patience while these important works are undertaken.
