On the 1st February, Raglan Ramblers will be visiting Nikau Caves at Waikaretu. This is another longish drive of about 70 km each way. The Ramblers will be going through this cave which has good stalactites and stalagmites. There is a short stretch to crawl along.

For those who prefer waterfalls, there’ll be a short walk to one as an alternative. Some may decide to stay overnight, or buy lunch, but, if not, bring lunch.

Walks usually start 9am, Wednesdays from Wainui Rd car park (next to Raglan Fire Station). There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook

Each “Rambler” accepts responsibility for any accident or injury received while travelling, or walking over private property. Be prepared – carry enough food, clothing, first aid kit for emergencies and preferably a mobile phone.
