District Council wants to raise Raglan rates by 9%

The Waikato District Council’s Long Term Plan is now open for consultation.

One proposal in the plan is to increase the general rates paid by Raglanites by 9%.

The Ngaruawahia based Council is asking for feedabck on two options:

Either a “hard and fast” general rate increase in year 1 of 9% and then 3.5% for year 2 and 3 of the plan. OR a general rate increase at 7% in year 1, 6% in year 2 and 4% in year 3.
