Dec 6: Raglan Ramblers to walk amongst the summer flowers in Hamilton Gardens

Hamilton Gardens is home to Te Parapara – New Zealand’s only traditional Maaori productive garden. The garden showcases traditional practices, materials and ceremonies relating to food production and storage, drawn from the knowledge of local Maaori which has been passed down the generations.

On the 6th December, Raglan Ramblers are off to the ‘tron’. They’ll be walking near Hamilton Gardens and the Waikato river at a time when the varied gardens should have colourful summer roses and many other flowers. Please bring your lunch.

Walks usually start 9 am, Wednesdays from Wainui Rd car park (next to Raglan Fire Station). There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook.

Each “Rambler” accepts responsibility for any accident or injury received while travelling, or walking over private property. Be prepared – carry enough food, clothing, first aid kit for emergencies and preferably a mobile phone.
