Dec 31: Raglan Lions 2017 New Year’s Eve Parade

Whaingaroa Forest Fairies – 2016 Winner: Sustainable

The countdown has started to the Annual Raglan Township New Year’s Eve Parade. And parade organiser Raglan Lions Club says they want your float. It’s now only four weeks to the parade so now is the time to get your creative juices flowing.

The Parade works well because of the huge support from families and groups in our community. In 2016 there were 150 people taking part in the parade on 25 floats and a huge crowd in Bow Street to watch it.

If you haven’t already got your float planned there is still time and there are big prizes. The parade is run by the Lions Club of Raglan with the support of the Waikato District Council and the Raglan Community Board.

New Year’s Eve Parade is at 7.00pm, 31st December 2017 in Bow Street, Raglan. Bow St is closed to traffic while the parade is on.

There are great prizes available with prizes awarded for the theme floats:

  • Community – 1st Prize $250, 2nd $150, 3rd $100
  • Sustainable – 1st Prize $250, 2nd $150, 3rd $100

  • Bike or anything on wheels – 1st Prize $100, 2nd $50, 3rd $25
  • And more spot prizes on the day

Assemble in Wallis St at 6.15 pm for Judging.

IMPORTANT: In the spirit of SAFETY NO Water from the Floats
