On Monday 2nd December 2024, Waikato District Council approved increases to its fees and charges for the 2024/25 year, starting from 5 December 2024. These changes ensure the Council is clear and fair about covering service costs.

Waikato District Council Chief Financial Officer Alison Diaz said, “These updates make sure that people who use Council services pay a fair share of the cost, helping to keep services running smoothly. We’ve listened to community feedback and are committed to keeping things fair and transparent.”

Parking Infringement Fees

From 1 October 2024, parking fines were updated to meet Ministry of Transport requirements. These changes, set by the government, help ensure the fees are in line with new laws and cover inflation and the costs of enforcing parking rules.
