Council closes Manu Bay lookout for 4 weeks

Manu Bay Lookout closed during construction period

The scenic lookout at Manu Bay, Raglan, will be closed for the next four weeks as work begins on a new pump station for the Whaanga Coast wastewater scheme.

Work on the 10km wastewater system has progressed quickly along Wainui Road and after a brief summer break is now continuing along Upper Wainui Road. This involves the construction of the booster pump station which will help transport waste to the treatment plant.

This work will be followed by the installation of pipes and pump systems to each household who have joined the scheme with an expected completion date for the project of March 2014.
