A Council contractor is scurrying to complete new car parks before Christmas. At the December meeting of Raglan Community Board, officials from the Waikato District Council reassured the Board that the new car parks would be completed before Christmas. On Monday a Raglan parking map was published showing the new two new car parks as part of the unlimited time parking available around Raglan.

But this week, council contractor, Fulton Hogan was still working on the new car park areas in Stewart Street and in Joyce Petchell Park. Orange cones as usual define the work in progress areas.

It seems that the six parks to be built by the developer in front of number 4 Stewart Street, will be built at a later stage now. Council officials advised the Community Board that as discussions with the property developer to agree a cost share to build the parks now were unsuccessful, this section of car parks in Stewart Street will be not going ahead at this time. Provision of these spaces is a condition of the consent (SUB0162/18) issued for the 11 unit development at 12 Wainui Road.
