The Community Board has now secured pledges for more than twenty poles in and around Bow St to be brightened up with Christmas lights over the Christmas-New Year period.
At its last meeting the Community Board agreed to fund $2,000 of the cost from its discretionary fund, leaving a $4,000 still needed to allow the lights to go up. The Board has been approaching the Raglan community to sponsor the remaining cost on the basis of $200 per set of lights per pole. Combinations of folk may sponsor a set if $200 is out of reach.
We now have over twenty sets of lights sponsored:
1. Residents and Ratepayers Assn.
2. Raglan website www.raglan.gen.nz

The Board thanks these people, local organisations and businesses for support of this community initiative. We believe that it is important to have Christmas lights to brighten up the town for residents, businesses and visitors.
If you would like to support a set of lights please contact Barry Ashby on 825 6727. The project will definitely go ahead as we have more than sets of lights sponsored. From now on every additional sponsorship means that more lights will go up!
