The Ministry for Primary Industries today Friday 22nd December has reduced the public health warning advising against collecting shellfish on the North Island west coast.
The collection of shellfish warning is lifted for Kawhia and Raglan.
The affected area of the North Island west coast now extends from Tauroa Point near Ahipara, and extends southward to North Head at the Kaipara Harbour entrance. The warning includes the Hokianga Harbour but not the Kaipara Harbour.
The existing warning against collecting shellfish for the Bay of Plenty region from the south end of Papamoa Beach down to Opape remains in place.
