Coastguard rescues man stuck in mud at Peart’s Finger, Raglan

The Raglan Volunteer Coastguard was called in to rescue a man stuck in mud 80 metres from the shore at at Peart’s Finger, Raglan.

He was rescued by a jet-ski east of The Narrows at 12.50pm on Wednesday 1st November, a spokesperson from Coastguard Northern Region said.

Peart’s Finger is between The Narrows and Haroto Bay on the Raglan inner harbour. The Narrows join Waitetuna to the rest of the harbour.

The man had initially made his way out on a boat and got stuck on the mud flats.

A friend of the man’s called police at about 12.30, who then contacted the Coastguard.
