Whaingaroa clay artist Clare Wimmer is all fired up about the wood fired ceramic classes she will be rpoviding during November in Waitetuna and Raglan. The Waitetuna classes are at Clare’s studio while the Raglan calsses are at the Old School Arts Centre in Stewart Street.

The contrast or complement of pure white porcelain with organically wood fired chunky work will be the focus for the next term programs.
Open to youth, children from 4 to 6 years with a caregiver and adults this course will consist of working with porcelain and a stoneware clay
to create contrasting or complementing pieces. These could have the theme of Christmas, summer fun and games or alfresco dining.
Course dates are Wednesdays: November 10,17,24, December 1 and 8 at the Clay Shed behind the Old School Arts Centre
Sunday, December 12th to fire the Waikato Potters Society Wood Kiln (Crn Ward and Seddon Street, Hamilton)
December 15th for Exhibition and closing Celebration at the Old School Arts Centre
Time: 3:30 to 5 pm at the Old School, Dec 12th will be advised
Cost:$69 including materials and firings for youth, $79 for child and caregivers making work along side and $85 for adults on their own.

Opportunities for hand built work and wheel thrown stoneware clay or slip cast porcelain are available at this extra special course of combining porcelain and Wood firing opportunities. Beginners and experienced welcome, making methods will be taught in a group setting with support for your creative
ideas on an individual basis.
Course dates are: Saturdays November 13, 20, 27, Dec 5 at the Old School Clay shed
and Dec 11th and 12th at Waikato Society of Potters Wood Kiln (Crn Ward and Seddon Street, Hamilton)
