Raglan Old School Arts Centre news
Warm up your vocals, tune up your instruments and dust off your costumes and props for the inaugural Battle of the Buskers at Raglan Old School Arts Centre, 5 Stewart Street, Raglan. Sunday. October 27 2019. 11am to 5pm.
Entries are now open for performers from across the Waikato to take to the stage to showcase their talents, with cash prizes for the best buskers.
Organiser Deb King says the competition is a great opportunity for story-tellers, troubadours, dance groups, magicians, acrobats, talented up-and-coming musicians and more to gain exposure in front of an appreciative audience.
“We’d love to make this a hotly-contended competition and showcase some of our best buskers.”
The judges will be looking for best overall, most inventive/originality and most promising, as well as checking performers interaction with the audience, presentation, costume use of props, talent and confidence.
Remember this is a whānau-friendly event so performances must be rated general admission.
The battle is set to take place at the Old School Arts Centre on Saturday, July 13 from 11am–5pm.
Categories include – Tamariki (7-12), Rangatahi (13-18) and Local/Visitors (19+).
Entry fee is $5 and enter as many times as you like.
