A combination of good project management and residents staying away has meant that the traffic closures have not caused significant delays for vehicles wanting to cross the Opotoru Bridge today, Wednesday. When the Raglan Website visited the work site this morning, there was no sign of any delays at either end of the bridge. With the footpath on the bridge closed totally while the sewer is being replaced, groups of school children were escorted across the bridge while it was closed to traffic.
The start of the work was delayed by one day due to bad weather on Monday. It is expected that the work will be completed overnight on Wednesday with the bridge fully open on Thursday morning.
