Breaking News: Proposed Raglan Town Plan withdrawn

At a meeting today of the Waikato District Council it was decided to withdraw the proposed Raglan Town Plan (known as Variation 15).  There had been widespread community opposition to the proposed plan since it was proposed last year.

On hearing of the news, Peter Storey, immediate past Chairperson of the Raglan Community Board, who led most of the opposition to the plan last year, said that it was an excellent decision by WDC.  Current Chair, Rodger Gallagher said that Council’s decision was very sensible and that the Raglan Community Board would work with Council staff on a community based plan to meet Raglan’s needs.
