The Raglan community is used to the Raglan Old School Arts Centre delivering a series of firsts for Raglan. Today, Wednesday 20th May it was announced that the New Zealand movie BOY has been such a success throughout New Zealand that a box office record income of $7,000,000, has been achieved, making it the highest grossing independent film in NZ of all time! That nudges it ahead of The Fastest Indian in a much shorter time in theatres. The release of the remix of the music video Poi E has added to the excitement about the movie.
And the first for Raglan was that for the first time ever, Raglan box office sales have been included in the NZ total. Sold out sessions last Sunday in Raglan have made it essential for BOY to return this coming Saturday 22nd at 4pm and 7pm.
