Back on the 7th November, Venus NZ Ltd applied for a license to WDC for a retail liquor outlet at 35 Bow St, Raglan. The last meeting of Strategy & Regulatory Committee listed this application as having been received by Council.
Then in late December new signs appeared on the premises at 35 Bow St, Raglan for the ‘Bow St Dairy’. The new dairy was open at the weekend promoting bread specials and selling the normal range of dairy items such as soft drinks, chippies and ice cream.
So has Bow St Liquor morphed into Bow St Dairy? The answer seems maybe.
Raglan 23 asked Sue Duignan, Waikato District Council’s General Manager Customer Support what was going on. Sue told us, “At this stage, the liquor licence application is still being processed and until the application has been determined, the premises will operate as a dairy. Council has issued a certificate of registration under the food hygiene regulations. If the off licence is granted the dairy operation would cease.”
