Bob MacLeod, a good friend and pillar of the Raglan community has passed away. Whether it was painting fire hydrant covers yellow, building seats in parks, planting trees or organising the Raglan New Year’s Eve Parade, Bob was there. For 17 years he served as Operational Support (SFF) at Raglan Fire Brigade.

In 2013 he won volunteer of the year award for his tireless work as a community volunteer. Growing up in the coastal Waikato community of Raglan he was singled out for his dedication to the local community, and his ability to bring together people and organisations.

Bob was a member of the Raglan Volunteer Fire Service, Lions Club, Residents & Ratepayers Association and the Raglan Community Board and he also drove the bus for the Raglan Community Vehicle Trust. Nominator Chrissy Hodkinson said: “There’s not much he’s not involved in, in Raglan.”

Our thoughts are with Genny. Any condolences can be sent to the Raglan Fire Station, PO Box 110, Raglan. A memorial service is planned for after the lockdown.
