In a pre-dawn setting this morning (Tuesday 31st July), kuamatua and kuia from Whaingaroa iwi gathered along with representatives from Waikato District Council and Raglan Community Board to bless the replacement building on the wharf. Russell Riki said his memories of the wharf went back to his boyhood when he came fishing on the wharf with his father.
The official opening of the wharf building will be on August 6th at 12 noon followed by a community open day from 1pm to 4pm.
