Big changes coming for Raglan supermarket

Staff at the Raglan supermarket in Bow St are anticipating with excitement some big changes that are coming in mid-August.   Regular shoppers will have noticed shelving units being moved to different locations in the store. These changes are clearing the way to allow work to commence.

Out the back a sample of the new floor has been trialled.  A small section of the old vinyl flooring has been taken up and the concrete floor ground and polished.  This work will be carried out to the whole floor of the supermarket.   And the ceiling and walls will be repainted.

Raglan Supermarket to move to SuperValue

Mr Four Square soon to disappear from Bow St

Another key change will be the supermarket moving from the Four Square franchise across to the SuperValue franchise operated by a subsidiary of Progressive Enterprises Ltd which operates Countdown supermarkets. This will mean a big chnage to the outside look of the building with Mr Four Square disappearing and the green and yellow replaced by red and gold branding. Like Four Square, SuperValue is also an owner operator franchise  so there will be no change to the ownership of the store. It will continue to be owned by Richard Jacobsen.

The supermarket building was built by Petchells who owned and operated it for many years. This is the second big change to the building- when it was first built by Petchells the doors were at the front of the building with windows along the street frontage.
