On the 30th August, Raglan Ramblers will be walking along the Kaitoke estuary. There will be from six to eight kilometres of walking round the coasts of Raglan, including some less used paths.  As well as bush, there are several views to the south, including Karioi. Over a century ago this Cornish boiler in Flax Cove powered George Rutherford’s (Sir Ernest’s brother) 1902 flaxmill. There were once 16 flaxmills around Whāingaroa. After the walk the Ramblers will head back for a pot-luck lunch and plan where to go for the next 6 months of walks.
