Aug 25-26: Schools 2015 Surfing Champs

NZ Schools Surfing Championship 2015

The Raglan Area School ‘Surfing Academy’ students are once again hosting the annual NZ Schools Surfing Championships. This competition is different to the National Scholastics in that any student from any school can enter as long as there are no more than 10 entries from each school.

The top 4 places from each school will determine who wins the ‘Team Championship Points’. All finalists will receive prizes and a trophy. There will also be lots of spot prizes and fun competition giveaways. The Raglan Surfing Academy students are not permitted to enter the comp as they are running the entire event.

The competition will run on the Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th of August. Registration will be Monday night, 6:30pm at the school hall. All teams must attend.
The postponement days of the 27h and 28th of August are in case the surf is unsuitable or unsafe.

Two day’s notice will be given on our Facebook page if there is a need for postponement.

There are limited numbers. Last year the draw was full 2 weeks before competition day so be quick. First paid entries will have priority. No entries will be allowed on the day, as the draw will be finalized 3 days prior to the event.

There is plenty of accommodation this time of year in Raglan. The most reasonably priced accommodation is the Kopua Holiday Park (07 825 8283) Solscape (07 825 8268) and the Raglan Backpackers (07 825 0515).
