Aucklanders arrive with Whāingaroa needing another 611 dots to achieve 90% milestone

Vaccination numbers released today (15/12) show that Whāingaroa continues to make slow vaccination progress. The uptake of Covid vaccination for Raglan is up 18 to 2592 first dose, Around Raglan up 15 to 1967 first dose and Te Akau up 7 to 1234 placing it just over the 90% milestone. Second dose vaccinations are even lower with Raglan on 2444 2nd dose, Around Raglan on 1850 2nd dose and Te Akau 1172 putting it on 86%.

With Aucklanders arriving today Wednesday 15th Dec. in Whāingaroa, we still need another 611 dots to achieve the 90% fully vaccinated milestone. Another 284 need to get started with their first dot. With Whāingaroa on 86% single dot and 81% double dot, it is level with Northland, which is still on a red traffic light setting.

In the Waikato nine new cases were reported overnight, with five in Te Kūiti and four in Hamilton. The total number of cases is 597 (112 active and 485 recovered). There are 16 active cases that are as yet unlinked. There are no active cases in Raglan.

There are ten pop-up and dedicated testing sites operating throughout Waikato today with sites in Hamilton, Te Kūiti, Ngāruawāhia, Huntly, Taumarunui, Tokoroa, Putāruru and Ōtorohanga. There were 1390 tests processed in Waikato yesterday and 1870 vaccinations given.

There are two COVID-19 positive individuals receiving care at Waikato Hospital. In the Waikato, Public Health, primary care and manaaki providers are supporting 71 cases to isolate at home.
