Local Raglan artist, Lois Tylee is exhibiting the results of a project called ENVIRONMENTAL OBSERVATIONS at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre. The six paintings are part of a project Lois has completed as an assignment for The Learning Connexion Diploma.
The project was to produce a group of paintings with:
- A theme
- A 6 week time-frame to complete
And then to arrange a place to exhibit them and then arrange the exhibition.
The process Lois used was first taking 36 photos of places of interest around Raglan, then producing 20 sketches on site and from these photos and sketches deciding on six of them to develop into these paintings. She used recycled frames and mostly recycled boards.
The paintings are:
- Earths under layers
- Brackenaga
- Help!
- Dandelion Dandi
- Poplars Popular
- Controlled Environment
The paintings are on display in the community gallery at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre in Stewart Street during July. Open on Mondays and Wednesdays and when the flags are out.
