Apr 10: Parking meeting- the options including pay & display

Charges for parking may be coming for Raglan. Following consideration of a WDC staff recommendation to review the parking bylaw, a comprehensive review of parking over the summer and a consultant’s report covering parking at boat ramps, at its meeting on the 13th February, Raglan Community Board decided to hold a community meeting to look at parking options for Raglan.

The boat ramp report covered how other councils charge of use of boat ramps and parking facilities at boat ramps. The Thames Council charges $70 a season for a pay and display sticker fro its boat ramps.

The parking options workshop is being held by Raglan Community Board on Tuesday 10th April at 2pm in the Town Hall Supper Room. John Lawson of Whaingaroa Environmental Defence says that one of the favoured options is a pay and display charging system for parking.
