With 50 people having their second dot, Covid vaccinations for Whāingaroa moved the fully vaccinated level up from 83.4% to 84%. And with 22 people having their first dot, that percent is now on 86.5%. Although the mobile vaccination team has now finished their work in Raglan’s Papahua Domain, vaccinations are now available at Raglan Pharmacy and Raglan Medical.
Vaccination numbers released on Wednesday (12/1) show that Whāingaroa continues with its slow vaccination progress. The uptake of Covid vaccination for Raglan is up 10 to 2633 first dose, Around Raglan up 9 to 1998 first dose and Te Akau flat up 1 to 1243 placing it just over the 90% milestone. Second dose vaccinations are Raglan on 2548 2nd dose (86%), Around Raglan on 1930 2nd dose (82%) and Te Akau 1211 putting it on 89%.
To achieve the 90% vaccination milestone, Whāingaroa needs another 409 people to have their second dose. Overall the Waikato DHB region is at First doses (94%); second doses (91%).
There are three new cases in Waikato today, two are linked to previous cases and one is under investigation. One is in Ngāruawāhia, one in Whiritoa and one with location under investigation.
Two new locations of interest were confirmed in Whitianga and Hamilton and will be added to the Ministry’s locations of interest page.
Pop-up testing sites are operating in Te Kūiti, Taumarunui, Tokoroa, Ōtorohanga, Putāruru, Ngāruawāhia, Huntly, Hamilton and Whangamatā today. For details of all dedicated testing sites including other general practices, please visit the DHB’s website.
