The usual sign of a retail makeover is up at 23 Bow St. Newspaper is covering the windows so work can go on in private on funking up the space for a new cafe.

The Banteay Srey restaurant closed on the 1st April and there hasn’t been any action since then. The site has been taken over by Raglanders Rach and Aaron Bidois. The pair operate a successful cafe in Hamilton known as the Sugar Bowl.

In a recent article, the Raglan Chronicle quoted Rach Bidios as saying that the new cafe would, “Sell cabinet food, salads, raw foods, and cafe style food by day. At night it would metamorph into  a takeaway joint with gourmet burgers, craft beers and healthy gourmet food available to eat in or take out.”

The new cafe doesn’t have a name yet. It is expected to open late June or early July.
