Toi o Tahuna fine art gallery, on Church Lane in Queenstown, has another three-week exhibition of surfboard art by Raglan’s Aaron Kereopa on Friday night.
“This is our biggest show of the year, and the most popular,” gallery owner Mark Moran says.
“We expect at least half of the show to sell on opening night.”
Kereopa, uses surfboard foam blanks as his medium, fusing traditional carving with contemporary art.
A member of the Tainui iwi, he explores themes including popular cultures and then similarities between Maori and Hawaiian cultures. The exhibition runs till September 1.
