Raglan man Aaron Brunet again took top honours in the latest MasterChef New Zealand elimination challenge.

Contestants were first given a fish identification test, in which Aaron came top. His reward was allocating different cuts of pork to his fellow contestants for the week’s elimination challenge. Choosing pork ribs for himself, Aaron again impressed the judges, with the ribs cooked on and off the bone.
Chef Simon Gault described it as a “phenomenal dish”, with Ray McVinnie saying it was one of the most successful fusion dishes he’d ever seen. Aaron and fellow contestant Elliot were declared winners of the challenge, with their prize being a trip to Queenstown for a master class with chef Josh Emmett at Rata restaurant.
MasterChef New Zealand continues next Sunday on TV One.

  2. He’s certainly looking very good and I hope he wins. Some locals are already talking about parties to watch the final episode live. But anything can happen – remember Jac’s masterpiece collapsing in the final.
