Dining inside at The Wharf Kitchen & Bar

A Spring Friday night at The Wharf

The Wharf Kitchen & Bar at the end of Wallis Street has been open for a couple of years now.  Previous visits have shown that it is  a reliable choice for dinner. It was a Spring Friday night so we headed to The Wharf once more.

Dining inside at The Wharf Kitchen & Bar

Arriving just before 7pm, there was a choice of tables, although as the night progressed the restaurant filled up. The service was prompt with menus supplied along with some water. The menu is now based around ‘Small’ and ‘Big’ plus a range of side dishes. There is a good range of choices of fish, seafood, poultry, meat and vegetarian dishes. You can pick from a selection of mains plus side dishes or a varieties of ‘plates’, which are complete meals.  Service was friendly. As the night progressed it got a little slower with more guests. Additional staff were called on when they saw this was going to be a busy night.

For the main I picked the Dijon crusted Lamb rack with crushed peas, new potatoes, gremolata and merlot jus.  Virginia ordered the Chicken Parmigianino with cos lettuce, crispy bacon, tomato concasse and shaved parmesan  They were both presented well and were very tasty. We gave the meals Nine out of Ten.

For dessert we had their raspberry cheesecake. We followed this dessert with coffees.

All up the mains, desserts, wines and coffees came to $116.

Overall on Value for Money I gave Wharf Kitchen & Bar a Eight out of Ten for a very good meal and service.

I’d recommend booking on Friday and Saturday nights.
