Raglan Community Board members were sent a letter about another resignation during the week. The letter from Gavin Ion, Chief Executive of the Waikato District Council, let them know that he had received a resignation letter from board member, Matt Holl. He is the third member who has resigned during this term.
Mr Holl’s letter was effective immediately. Mr Ion’s letter advised the Board members that a by-election was not necessary. Instead they could decide to appoint someone to the role or leave the position vacant untill the next local body elections in 2016..
At the next Board meeting on December 1st, the Board’s chair Mr Alan Vink will be absent. He has given his apologies as he is away in the USA that week, and the RCB meeting is a week earlier than expected.
So the remaining RCB members will be making a decision on the Board vacancy when Mr Vink is absent.
Last week Mr Holl sent a letter to RCB members. It ended with the terse comment, “PS I tendered my resignation from the Raglan Community Board on Tuesday this week. Take that as a vote of no confidence in the chairman.”
Hello, I am a friend of Matt Holl’s from the 1970s and would love to make contact with him. Is there any way you could help me connect with him, maybe via email or any other means. Thank you god your help. Kind regards Helen.
