  Raglan’s water tower is now all white. After a blessing of the old mural on 7th November by kaumatua Sean Ellison, the old mural was painted over all white in preparation of a brand new one by local mural artist Theo Arraj. Mike Crean writing in ‘Your Weekend’ magazine describes Raglan as a town that punches above its weight in the arts.  Drama, dance, music, fine arts, fabric arts, sculpting, writing, carving, raranga, korowai and Te Moko – they all happpen in Raglan.  Raglan artists with open studios are listed in the Raglan Art Weekend Guide covering the arts weekend.

Galleries in the town area include Jet Collective, Kanuka, Matapihi and Show Off.  Hello Gallery is just off Wainui Rd in Bankart St. Along Wainui Rd and up Stewart St on the right is the Raglan Old School Arts Centre where there are arts workshops, events and exhibitions as well as the Raglan Creative Market on the second Sunday of every month.

For local music check out the Raglan Musicians’ Club at the Raglan Club on the last Thursday of each month from 7.00pm till late.
