    Waikato Mayor Jacqui Church speaking at the event Raglan’s water tower mural is now complete. It was blessed on the morning of Friday 20th Dec by kaumatua Sean Ellison. A large crowd turned out for the blessing which was followed by speeches from local dignitaries, the mural artist Theo Arraj and Waikato District Mayor Jacqui Church. Mike Crean writing in ‘Your Weekend’ magazine describes Raglan as a town that punches above its weight in the arts.  Drama, dance, music, fine arts, fabric arts, sculpting, writing, carving, raranga, korowai and Te Moko – they all happpen in Raglan.  Raglan artists with open studios are listed in the Raglan Art Weekend Guide covering the arts weekend.

Galleries in the town area include Jet Collective, Kanuka, Matapihi and Show Off.  Hello Gallery is just off Wainui Rd in Bankart St. Along Wainui Rd and up Stewart St on the right is the Raglan Old School Arts Centre where there are arts workshops, events and exhibitions as well as the Raglan Creative Market on the second Sunday of every month.
