More marquees are going up on the Raglan HOG Rally site in the Kopua Reserve and a few Harleys are starting to be seen and heard around Raglan. After a damp Wednesday, the sun has returned with Raglan Weather predicting sunny weather for Friday and Saturday.
On Friday 18th and Saturday 19th February 2011, Raglan will host the 21st National HOG (Harley Owners Group) Rally. Over 1000 HOG riders (which equates to approximately 600 motorcycles) are expected to take part in the Harley convention which is attracting both national and Harley enthusiasts from around the world.
Raglan Airfield will be closed to aircraft while the Rally is on as it will be used for parking.
Shuttle Run Information
There will be buses on call for the duration of the Rally with a set run to Whale Bay and another run doing a circuit around (Raglan) town.
The shuttle runs will be 6pm – 7.30pm, and 9pm – 2 am on Friday evening. Saturday from 7am – 8 30 am.
The Whale Bay run will include Upper Wainui Rd.
The town run will be to Wharf then through Goverment Rd, Lorenzen Bay and Greenslade Rd returning through Norrie Ave.
Cost per trip (per person):
- $5.00 pp within town-limits
- $10.00 pp outside town-limits (inc. Whale Bay, Hills Rd, Maungatawhiri Rd)
- $15.00 pp for any points beyond
A shuttle to and from Hamilton can also be arranged by booking at the registration marquee.
