The Karioi Volcano book launch held on Saturday 7th September in the Stewart Street Church Hall with well over 100 people attending. They were along to listen to Geologist Dr Oliver McLeod describe how his new book weaves together kōrero of local mātauranga Māori and geological science.
Oliver has traversed the slopes of Karioi over the last few years, meeting its people and listened to their stories. The result is a remarkable book which plots the geology and whakapapa of Karioi. The result is a magnificent book and map, Geology of Karioi Volcano.
