On the 5th April, Raglan Ramblers will be climbing to Te Uku Windfarm via Vandy Rd. This is the shortest route to the top. However this old road started in the 1890s and never completed, hasn’t been maintained since the 1930s. So it sometimes it can be muddy, but hopefully it won’t rain much before the walk! There is a mix of bush and good views, including the view in the photo across bush, all the way to Pirongia. As well as the views there are the huge 130.5 m. high, 2.2MW turbines. Please bring your lunch.
There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook-https://www.facebook.com/RaglanRamblers/. Most walks start at 9am from the James St/ Wallis St corner near Catholic church.
