Live & Local returns to Old School for 2023

With the road to Hamilton from Raglan taken longer than usual due to the detour via Ngaruawahia, Local is more important than usual. Live & Local- the popular series of showcases for local performers – is back after a short summer break.  The February edition features poet Celestial Festival, local songwriter Joe Wilson and guitarist Reinis Jaunais.

Friday Feb 10 at Raglan Old School Arts Centre, 5 Stewart Street, Raglan. Upstairs in Whare Tapere.

Doors open at 7pm with Live & Local starting at 7.30pm. Koha entry. Bar open.

Reinis Jainais

Reinis Jaunais, a musician from Riga, Latvia, describes his music as travel experiences painted with sounds. Reinis has been performing all over the world sharing his exceptional guitar skills and unique songs. His music combines distinctive guitar playing techniques – including fingerstyle, tapping, percussive, and live looping. Reinis has played over 200 concerts a year recently and has toured all around Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Joe Wilson

Joe Wilson spent five years as a busker travelling New Zealand, Australia and the UK. He has always just tried to write ‘simple good songs’ that speak to people in ways that are honest and easy to digest, nothing complicated or fancy.
