LOCAL film making wins at the RAFFAs

Entrants, sponsors and locals gathered at the Te Uku Community Hall for a celebration of the Raglan Arts Film Festival Awards on Saturday 19th November.

As always, local filmmakers were the winners on the night, with fine filmmaking on show. Robin Smith walked away with the coveted Grand Phoenix Palm Award for best overall film for Raglan Gems, which chronicled the birdlife in the Whaingaroa harbour.  And the awards go to;

Best Tamariki Go Cart Run – Ridge Skerman and Miller Kirk  | Runner Up A Kid in Raglan – Rico Clarke and Ed Woolston

Best Rangatahi Waste of Time – Zen Lally  | Runner Up The Last Heist – Afenco Hill

Best Open Amateur Raglan Gems – Robin Smith   | Runner Up Auxiliam – Josiah Low-Scheumperli

Best Open Professional Painting with Places – Amanda Watson   | Runner Up Cold Blooded Dermatographic Locutions – Elisabeth Denis

Best Actor Arthur in Biff and Arthur – Liam Pettigrew

Best Creative Endeavour & Best Cinematography Auxiliam – Josiah Low-Scheumperli
