To reach 90% vax target, Whāingaroa needs another 769

For Whāingaroa to reach the needs another 769 people to have their first shot. The latest data (on 19 October 2021) for Raglan Whāingaroa shows that another 769 people need to have their first COVID-19 shot to reach the 90% Government target. Another 2224 people who have had their first shot need to go on and have their second shot.

Min. Health stats show that the 90% target means that of the 6901, eligible for vaccination in Raglan Town, Around Raglan and Te Akau, would require 6211 people to be fully vaccinated. So far the percent fully vaccinated is: Raglan 57%, Around Raglan 55% and Te Akau 64%.

These are all below the Hamilton on 71%, Waipa on 70%, Waikato District on 65% and the Waikato Region on 66%.

When all DHB regions in New Zealand reach the 90% level, Raglan will move to the Orange level, allowing cafes, gyms and events to open for with no restrictions for people with a vaccination certificate.

On Friday 22nd there were no new Covid cases in Raglan.

There were nine new cases in the Waikato region, all have been contacted and links confirmed to existing cases. Of the new cases, five were in Te Awamutu, two in Hamilton, one in Whatawhata and one in the Cambridge/Karapiro area. This brings the total number of cases in this outbreak to 73. One person is in Waikato Hospital. At this time, there are just four cases in the Waikato for which the links remain under investigation.
