On the 20th May, Raglan Ramblers will be back walking with a choice of two walks. Ramblers say that so long as the COVID-19 Level 2 is in place, groups are limited to 10, so there will be two walks each week.

  • On the 20th May the walks will be:
Wainui Reserve – a 140ha reserve, which has views of sea,
mountains, harbour and town, together with bush, sculptures, streams, ponds, marshes and farmland. This was Raglan Ramblers’ first walk 30 years ago, on Sat 26 May 1990.
  • Karioi trapline from Hardy’s farm – about 6km return and climbing 500m to 756m along a line of 20 traps in the bush, part of Karioi Maunga’s network of pest control. The going gradually gets steeper until emerging next to the solar panels on the summit – bring lunch

There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook-https://www.facebook.com/RaglanRamblers/. All walks start at 9am from the James St/ Wallis St corner near Catholic church.

Each “Rambler” accepts responsibility for any accident or injury received while travelling, or walking over private property. Be prepared – carry enough food, clothing, first aid kit for emergencies and preferably a mobile phone.
