The next Board meeting of the Raglan Community Board is Wed 13 Nov at 1.30pm in the Community House basement. As well as a different day and venue, there is no public forum on the agenda. The first part of the meeting will swear in the members and elect the Chairperson.

The short 28-page agenda includes –
Change of meeting dates – rather than meeting 2 months out of 3 on Tuesdays, it is proposed to meet 6 weekly on Wednesdays.
Climate emergency update to be given on creation of framework for climate action.
Raglan Naturally workshops – hope to present final version – RN 2019 in Dec, after -Workshop 1: Review teams work and reflect on our process to date, use this to consider RN role for future – what the roles looks like, roles and responsibilities. Workshop 2: To confirm role-related objectives for the organisation and explore what structure would be best to progress these roles/ objectives.
Discretionary fund has $8,002. WDC is asking RCB to pay Community House $60 each for a meeting when the Supper Room was being redecorated and for this meeting. There is no mention of the $22.02 pa “targeted rate for the purpose of covering the direct costs of operating all the community boards“. The next application round closes on Friday 7 Feb.

Other issues missing from the agenda are sewage – still no news of the resource consent renewal due this month, reports on any spills, pump track progress, proposed new footpaths (Wainui Rd, Raglan West, Greenslade Rd, Cliff St andLorenzen Bay) consultation with WDC on extra buses for Whatawhata, James St and Museum bus stops and shelters, Bow St bike racks, turning the grass on the corner of Wallis St / John St into a $25,000 gravel boat park, i-SITE tender, Wharf boardwalk (finally near completion), Bow St jetty safety rail, Coastal Reserves, Town Hall and Campground committees, Rangitahi, Hills Rd water tower, cutting trees on reserves, glyphosate, volunteer worker safety, parking infringement money, harbour lease, coastguard lease, Puriri Park, weedbusters, etc. Should WED be taking up these or other issues?
