Friends of Wainui AGM is at 10.30am on Monday 26 November 2018 at the Gazebo in Friends of Wainui Bush Park (beside the ponds). All are welcome to attend.
Since the last AGM there have been working parties twice a month, mainly doing maintenance work, such as clearing tracks, weeds and checking traps, which have caught 65 rats, 27 possums, 32 mice and 4 hedgehogs.

During the year District Council closed the bridge near the Gazebo from February to June and put up signs, some of which are helpful and some needing correction. Some tracks are now named after Betty Rawley, who has been working at the park for the whole 25 years.
Friends of Wainui was formed in 1993. The 25th anniversary was marked a fortnight ago, with some of the older volunteers present, as well as those currently joining working parties, which start at 9am on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month.
