THE TOWN OF RAGLAN AND SURROUNDING RURAL AREA HAS GROWN IN RECENT YEARS. IN ADDITION TO INCREASED TOURISM, THE RESIDENT POPULATION HAS INCREASED AND BUSINESS HAS EXPANDED.
AS THE RAGLAN AREA DEVELOPS, WEL NETWORKS IS WORKING HARD TO ENSURE RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES HAVE THE ELECTRICITY INFRASTRUCTURE THEY NEED.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
WEL Networks’ Western Network Upgrade has two main benefits
for local residents and businesses:

  1. More reliable electricity supply. This means fewer outages and better quality of supply.
  2. Increased security of supply. Security of supply means we’ve built ‘back-up systems’ into our network so that if one part of our network is down, other parts take over and your power stays on.

LINE COMMISSIONING NOVEMBER 2010
Leading up to 6 November, WEL Networks will commission new
electricity lines in the Raglan area. Commissioning makes the lines ‘live’ and connects them into our network, which involves a lot of behind the scenes technical work.

Be assured WEL will be doing everything it can to keep the power on during commissioning of these lines and will work to restore it quickly if there is an outage.
As a reminder, please always treat all lines as live and maintain a safe distance from all power poles, lines and electrical equipment.
