Raglan potter Tony Sly’s studio on the wharf

The Fairfax Stuff website has been out meeting the creative minds of New Zealand in their Meet the Maker series. What they found was that some of the environments where the artists and artisans work from are almost as interesting as the creators themselves.

Stuff said that, “Despite all the places we’ve since been to, Tony Sky’s picturesque Raglan studio remains a standout.”  His studio-come-store for the last 10 years has been out on the wharf of the Waikato surfing town.  Tony told Stuff, “The colours of the water undoubtedly influence the choices of glaze for objects in his classic range.”
